Layered Image Composer User Guide

How to Use Layered Image Composer

Layered Image Composer helps you combine images from one, two, or three folders on a transparent design area. You can size and position each layer, preview the results, and export a full set of finished images as a ZIP file.

Quick Start

  1. Set your canvas width and height in the Design Area section.
  2. Upload one or more folders in the Add Image Folders section.
  3. Open a saved project if you want to reuse previous canvas, layer, and export settings.
  4. Select the layer you want to work on in the Adjust Active Layer section.
  5. Move, resize, rotate, and align the image until it looks right.
  6. Use Refresh Preview to check sample results.
  7. Choose your export settings and click Export ZIP.
You can use Layered Image Composer with just one folder, or add a second and third folder for layered compositions.

Adding Images

Image Folder 1

Use this for your main image set. If you only want to work with one folder, this can be the only folder you upload.

Image Folder 2

Add this when you want a second image layer in each composition. If the folder contains fewer images than another folder, the tool repeats images as needed while exporting.

Image Folder 3

Use this optional folder when you want a third layer. If you do not need it, simply leave it empty.

Saving Settings

Use Save Project when you want to reuse the same canvas size, layer positions, layer order, active layer, and export settings later. The tool downloads a small .layeredmockup file to your computer.

Project files do not include your uploaded image folders. Your image files stay on your computer, so after opening a saved project you will choose the image folders again.

This is useful when you create repeated batches with the same layout and want each layer to land in the same place every time.

Working with Layers

Each uploaded folder can be treated as its own layer. Choose Layer 1, Layer 2, or Layer 3 to decide which image you are editing.

  • Send Backward moves the active layer lower in the stack.
  • Bring Forward moves the active layer higher in the stack.
  • Center places the active layer in the middle of the design area.
  • Reset returns the active layout to its default placement.

Positioning and Sizing

Layered Image Composer gives you both visual and exact controls for placement.

  • Drag inside the box to move the active image.
  • Drag the corner handles to resize it.
  • Use arrow keys for small adjustments.
  • Enter Image X and Image Y for precise coordinates.
  • Enter Image width and Image height for exact size values in pixels.
  • Keep image proportions to resize without stretching.

The boundary guides around the design area help keep images inside the canvas while you move or resize them.

Adjusting Appearance

Use the sliders in the placement section to refine the active layer:

  • Opacity changes how transparent the image looks.
  • Rotation turns the image to the angle you need.
  • Alignment buttons snap the layer to the left, center, right, top, middle, or bottom of the design area.

Previewing Your Results

Click Refresh Preview to see sample compositions before exporting. This is a quick way to confirm your placements, layer order, and overall look.

The preview panel shows a few examples from your uploaded folders so you can spot problems before creating the full export.

Exporting Your Images

  1. Enter the base file name you want to use.
  2. Set the starting number for the exported sequence.
  3. Choose an export width, or leave it blank to use the current canvas width.
  4. Select PNG or JPG.
  5. Click Export ZIP.

Your finished images will be packaged into one ZIP file for easy download and delivery.
